BitchSlapped again. Braille trail, first part, that 90degree left and vertical drop after the hump.

Instead of putting out a foot and leaning the turn, I figured I'd lock the rear and just skid a quick left. Should be able to get the bike pointed downhill and not have to almost come to a stop. Skid. Seemed like a good idea. It probably was, except it was a 90deg. turn. My 'skid' amounted to about 45deg., at best. I was now commited on a near vertical drop but had the little problem on not being 'aligned' with the trail. I was aligned however. With a bunch of trees. I seemed to remember thinking I should bail, but it was decided for me a second later. Babyhead or root, not sure which, but the front wheel stopped. I actually went over the bars and remembered disengaging my feet so I wouldnt carry my bike with me. Not a problem. The bike continued its trajectory, and nicely slammed into my back on the 2nd or 3rd rotation.

It was a complete yard sale. Even my CamelBack was about 5 feet away on the 1/2 off rack, and it has 2 shoulder straps and a sternum lock. Go figure.

Anyway.....as the Tour Day France is in full force, I heard someone where I work comment on the perception that bike racing is for pussies.
